A man who police say was the reputed leader of a notorious gang in St James was gunned down in a daring daylight attack just minutes after leaving a court in Montego Bay in the parish.
“It was like a scene from a movie,” one alleged eye witness told Loop News.
Elvis Malcolm, 26-year-old reputed leader of the Crooks Gang, was shot dead near Mount Alvernia Prep school about 1 pm.
According to a police report, Malcolm was on his way from court in Montego Bay when the car in which he was traveling was cut off by another vehicle.
Men armed with high powered weapons alighted from the car and opened fire on Malcolm hitting him in the upper body.
The shooting sent several persons scurrying for cover.
Malcolm was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
