One man is dead and two guns were recovered yesterday after a shoot-out between the police and thugs in Clarendon.
The body of a male which is yet to be identified was discovered with gunshot wounds along a train line off Hazard Drive following a gun battle yesterday afternoon.
Superintendent David White, in charge of operations in Clarendon, said an AK47 rifle and a Taurus 9mm pistol were taken from the scene.
He said the police were on patrol when they were challenged by armed men.
The search continues for the other men.
White says the deceased is believed to be one of those wanted by the police for several gun crimes committed in the parish.
However, they are awaiting the findings of their investigations to determine the identity of the man and any possible offences.
